CHAPLAIN (Personal Services)



Working as a member of the Hospice Team, the Chaplain will present a pastoral element of care and concern, providing spiritual and emotional support for patients, families, and staff members of all creeds.
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Hospice of San Angelo, the responsibilities of the Chaplain include:
Conducts groups with patients and family members in collaboration with other team members.Assists staff and volunteers in meeting their emotional and spiritual needs.Supports clergy in their involvement with patients and their families.Assists in the development of memorial service in which patients, families, and staff may participate.Assists in the development of an inter-faith advisory group of clergy which will offer input in ministering to the spiritual needs of patients and families.Conduct spiritual component of Inter-Disciplinary Training meetings.Participates in orientation and training of new employees and volunteers.Keeps others adequately informed and exhibits great listening and comprehension skills Uses negotiation skills to resolve conflicts in a respectful manner.Maintains effective professional relationships.Treats patients, families, and staff with respect and compassion.Respects and upholds confidentiality.Deals effectively with difficult situations.
