Position Summary:
Visalia Post Acute is seeking a friendly, professional, and dependable Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for visitors, residents, and staff, the Receptionist plays a key role in maintaining a warm and organized front office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff with a positive, professional demeanor
- Answer, screen, and forward phone calls; take messages as needed
- Maintain and monitor the visitor sign-in log
- Direct or escort visitors to appropriate destinations
- Notify staff of visitor arrivals, cancellations, or changes
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail
- Schedule appointments and manage meeting room bookings
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties as assigned
- Protect resident privacy by maintaining the confidentiality of all protected health information (PHI)
- Report any known or suspected breaches of confidentiality
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior receptionist or administrative experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic office equipment
- Knowledge of multi-line phone systems
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Ability to read, write, and interpret a variety of instructions and business correspondence
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear throughout the workday
- Prolonged computer use; frequent use of office equipment (copier, phone, fax, calculator)
- Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds
Work Environment:
- Office setting within a skilled nursing facility
- Low to moderate noise levels
- No travel required
