The Budget Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our behavioral health non-profit organization. This position is responsible for overseeing budgeting processes, financial forecasting, decision support, variance analysis, and financial reporting. The Budget Analyst will collaborate closely with various departments to develop and monitor budgets, analyze financial data, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.

How will I contribute
Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with executive leadership, department managers, and finance staff to develop comprehensive and strategic budgets.Ensure all budget submissions are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies and funding source requirements.Monitor financial performance and conduct regular variance analysis to identify trends, assess risks, and inform leadership of potential impacts.Prepare and deliver timely, data-driven financial reports and presentations to senior leadership, including dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).Support development of grant budgets and collaborate with program managers and the Grant Accountant to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance with grant requirements.Support capital planning efforts by preparing and managing budgets for capital projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial strategies.Assist with preparation of budget modification requests and ensure budget alignment with changing program and funding needs.Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting in response to organizational needs.Support the annual audit by preparing necessary budget-related documentation and addressing audit findings.Analyze the financial impact of proposed strategic initiatives and provide decision support to senior leaders.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models, assess business opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making.Identify and implement process improvements in budgeting and financial reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Serve as a resource to train and support staff on budgeting processes, tools, and financial management best practices.Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program.Use of company vehicles may be monitored by in-vehicle dashcam systems for safety, compliance, and operational purposes. These devices may record video, audio, and telematics data during vehicle operation. As a condition of employment in a position that requires driving an agency vehicle, consent to the use of dashcam technology is required. Refusal to consent to dashcam monitoring may disqualify individuals from driving duties or result in reassignment to a non-driving role.

What I bring
Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or related roles; or comparable quantitative field or equivalent related work experience. Class C Driving LicenseThorough understanding of budget development, variance analysis, forecasting techniques, and financial reporting. Familiarity with nonprofit funding streams and federal/state grant requirements. Proficiency in Excel and financial software (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or equivalent). Strong understanding of grant funding and cost allocation principles.Ability to synthesize and interpret financial data, communicate insights clearly, and present findings to both financial and non-financial audiences. Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.Analytical, collaborative, and mission driven. Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, professional integrity, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Experience in nonprofit or behavioral health finance strongly preferred. Familiarity with grant budgeting and compliance reporting. Experience using data visualization tools and financial dashboards.
