Marketing and Analytics Manager (E5916) (Project Management)



Job Summary
The overall purpose of this role is to support core functions of the Experience Design team including web analytics for IEEE.org, paid media/advertising, and marketing. The incumbent in this position will primarily focus on marketing strategies & services for several IEEE products, websites, and campaigns, while also collaborating with partners across the organization, and external vendors and consultants, when required. The role works in the Experience Design Team, reporting to the Manager, Data Science, Analytics, & Marketing Intelligence.

This individual can have up to (2) direct reports, must be able to work with low supervision, and independently manage concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day needs for IEEE.org web analytics. Develop monthly/ad hoc analytics reports, in-depth trends analyses & marketing intelligence, audience development & assessment, journey mapping, conversion/key event tracking, custom events, actionable insights, and assist with site redesign efforts.
  • Support the day-to-day organizational needs, operations, and enterprise-wide efforts in the realm of analytics & marketing through subject-matter expertise, account/client management, strong analytical, reporting and presentation skills; strategic content curation and campaign development, and the ability to adapt and shift gears to address ad hoc requests, evolving business needs, & changing environmental landscapes.
  • Creation of analytics reports, marketing strategies & programs, paid media campaigns, and end-to-end campaign management for IEEE products & services, top-tier websites, and organizational focus areas to identify marketing & business intelligence, actionable insights, key trends & metrics, core business drivers, user behavior resulting in conversions; and data, marketing, and website optimization opportunities.
  • Actively conducting industry research, competitive analyses, and landscape assessments to inform the enterprise analytics & marketing strategies, explore & manage new and cutting-edge tactics & tools for marketing automation & efficiency, establish proofs of concepts, ensure compliance, and present key findings to help IEEE stay ahead of the curve.
  • Leveraging various tools and techniques in order to analyze trends, develop best practice resources (such as tip sheets, tutorials, training programs, how-to guides, or topical articles for newsletters), and provide ongoing reporting to marketing & analytics constituents, leadership, as well as key stakeholders.
  • Creating recommendation-based resources & strategies for content managers and editors to spotlight promotional content & user needs on IEEE.org and other revenue-driving sites based on analytics.
  • Assisting with the development of a marketing intelligence program & marketing center of excellence through the creation of best practices, recommendations, and insights to fuel strategic and tactical executions in the realms of analytics, content curation, web design, social media, paid advertising, revenue generation, conversions, and more for cross-channel marketing efforts.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Analytics, Digital Analytics, Data Science, Advertising, Communications, Market Research, Marketing, Psychology, Content Management, or a similar field is required. Req

  • 4-7 years 4-7 years of experience in advertising, analytics, marketing, web maintenance, or a similar field is required. Req
Licenses and Certifications
  • Strong experience with advertising, analytics, marketing/social media tools & platforms such as Google Analytics, Meta, Google Ads, Bing, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, Hootsuite/Sprout, and paid media is required. Req
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Ads skillshop certification is preferred. Pref
  • Completed, in progress, or willingness to pursue further training and/or certification is preferred. Pref
Skills and Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience managing direct reports, agencies, and vendors with the ability to handle multiple client-facing relationships, projects, and processes.
  • Understanding of digital experiences and end-to-end data-driven best practices related to digital marketing, web analytics, and social media platforms is required.
  • Demonstrated experience setting up, managing, integrating, and customizing Google Analytics and the ability to develop basic and advanced reporting using GA4 and visualization tools like Looker Studio.
  • Demonstrated experience with working in Content Management Systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, Drupal, etc. is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Google Ads/paid media, Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager, social media advertising & strategy, marketing tools, etc. is required.
  • Demonstrated experience for data-based storytelling and dashboarding is required.
  • Must be tech savvy with the ability to learn/adapt to new technologies and processes with a continuous learning and growth mindset.
  • Ability to support and/or lead strategy development, analyze business needs and data, identify cost savings & optimization opportunities, and streamline workflow/processes.
  • Detail-oriented and keen attention to accuracy and consistency with problem-solving skills and a strong sense of individual ownership and responsibility.
  • Strong personal project and time-management skills; some ability and interest in working with multiple/diverse projects simultaneously in complex environments.
  • Excellent time-management and work-prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in critical thinking and problem solving/troubleshooting with strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical partners.
  • Must have a proven track record of delivering results and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, other IEEE partners/stakeholders, end users, vendors, and contractors in order to achieve goals.
  • Knowledge of Google Tag Manager, tagging & triggering, creation of custom & key events, GA4 configuration, and marketing pixel deployment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Google Search Console/Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Programmable Search Engine, SEO, SEM, domain management, generative AI, and content curation is a plus.
  • Experience with RedShift, Alteryx, Marketo, Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or similar data visualization techniques/tools/data warehouses is a plus.
  • Graphic design & video production skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment off-site/remotely with proficiency and efficiency when required.
  • Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office applications for email and document management is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Familiarity with remote meeting tools, such as WebEx and Google Meet, is required.
  • Advertising, marketing, site management, and/or PR agency experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of IEEE is a plus.
