Sr Customer Manager (Finance)



Job Description:

Title: Sr Customer Manager

Location: Phoenix, AZ

This role is responsible for delivering accelerated growth at PetSmart, while driving topline growth, improving investment efficiency, and helping the organization reach its yearly financial targets. The Senior Customer Manager is expected to become an expert on the PetSmart Pet Category, Shopper Trends and growth strategies, and executions for Mars Petcare at PetSmart. The person in this role will be our primary owner of day-to-day business responsibilities, including delivering on the objectives, as well as the secondary point of contact to the customer as well as leadership. While also working in partnership with the Team Lead to manage all aspects of financial performance, both short and long-term.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct customer management, category or eCommerce experience, a minimum of 5 years in the CPG industry (including large accounts and headquarter calls).
  • Successful experience working within a team environment that includes cross functional resources/departments.
  • Previous experience working with syndicated data sources: Nielsen, Retail Link, etc.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Business:

  • Partnering with Leadership:To lead our omni operation to deliver our annual business targets - NSV, Earning, Cash, Share, etc.
  • Strategic Agility: Ability to unify our resources, clarify our direction, make difficult decisions, and get the results we need consistently is essential.
  • Forecasting Acumen: Primary owner of forecast, call to the leadership team, and the signal we provide to our demand and supply teams. Experience forecasting either a business with 100+ SKU's, $150 MM+ in annual shipments,ora history of forecasting multiple categories will be essential.
  • Budget Management:Require for significant trade and shopper budget oversight, with multiple stakeholders that manage a portion of our total budget. Experience with managing investments at a large Omni customer will be important.
  • Category Expertise: Considered the expert on the current PetSmart and Mars category, brand performance, while conducting periodic category reviews to drive growth strategy.

Organization:

  • Organization Agility:Our PetSmart business is a fast-changing, dynamic one. There are many stakeholders across our category, sales planning, supply chain, demand planning, and leadership teams that we work with. An ability to build relationships and foster collaboration is crucial.
  • Process Management: Several inputs that are different from a traditional customer manager role's, and they all have an impact on our business. In this environment, process is crucial. An ability to unify resources, clarify direction, make difficult decisions, and get results is essential.
  • Presentation Skills: Comfort developing and presenting compelling presentations with small-to-medium sized audiences, as well as to members of senior leadership, are essential
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement.

People:

  • Customer Engagement: Driving customer engagement through long-range planning and the advancement of sustainable category growth strategies in collaboration with internal and external customer partners.
  • Driving Engagement:This role has a meaningful part in driving our office's overall engagement, and the expectation is that under normal conditions, 80%+ of working hours are spent in office.
  • Developing Others: Coaching, mentoring and directing for optimal performance.
