Event Planner (Finance)



Job Summary

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Manage and oversee Medline events/meetings (both internal and external) including: customer meetings, promo meetings, manager meetings, national sales meeting, tradeshow breakfast events, advisory board meetings.
Manage all event planning logistics and operations for events 51 - 250 attendees.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all event planning logistics and operations for events 51 - 250 attendees.

  • Manage budgets for events for 51-250 attendees, collect all corporate credit card transaction associated with events. Work with Director and accounting each month to allocate all event charges. Ensure all event invoices are received, allocated, resolved, and submitted to accounting in a timely matter.

  • Coordinate and monitor event timelines with Marketing Managers and Sales Leaders to ensure deadlines are being met.

  • Communicate meeting information to all attendees and presenters.

  • Venue Selection: Assist Director with hotel venue selection for events under 250 attendees.

  • Meet with Marketing, Sales and presenters to discuss meetings needs for scheduled events.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education

  • Bachelor's degree.

Certification / Licensure

  • None required.

Work Experience

  • At least 2 years experience in event planning or travel field.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences.

  • Experience prioritizing workload and scheduling effectively in order to meet deadlines.

  • Experience presenting to and communicating with various audiences (ex. others with differing language, senior management and non-technical audiences).

  • Position requires occasional work the early mornings, late evenings and weekends.

  • Position requires travel up to 30% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$63,960.00 - $92,560.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
