Camp Bus Stop Coordinator (Transportation)



The designated bus stop for summer camp departures is the White Bear Lake YMCA.
This location will serve as the departure and return point for the following camps:

Camp Menogyn
Camp Icaghowan
Camp Warren
Select trips for Camp du Nord and Camp WidjiwaganThe salary for this position starts at $15 hourly. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.

1. Job Summary:
The Bus Stop Coordinator is responsible for working with other Bus Stop Coordinators to ensure the safe and efficient arrival or departure of YMCA of the North camp buses at the beginning and end of programing. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to following check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring the quick and efficient loading of luggage onto the bus, and safe handling of medications at check in. The incumbent provides high quality experiences for campers that focus on the YMCA core values: caring, equity, honesty, respect and responsibility.

2. Essential Functions:
· Follow all check-in and out procedures including checking identification of those picking up campers.
· Provide accurate record keeping of all arrivals and departures.
· Provide excellent customer service as the point of contact for all families at the bus stop.
· Work with camp staff to ensure proper supervision of all campers in our care.
· Work with Camp Staff to ensure all luggage is loaded and unloaded in a timely manner.
· Properly check camper medications onto the bus and ensure they are with camp staff before departing.
· Quickly report and work with camp leadership to solve any delays or other problems that may arise.
· Know and enforce all safety procedures associated with the bus stop.
· Represent the camp when interacting with families, volunteers, and community members.

3. Relationships:
This position reports to the Program Director who reports to the Senior Program Director or Executive Director. The incumbent may take work directions from a Camp Manager or Assistant Camp Director. The incumbent interacts regularly with camp staff, campers, volunteers, and families. This position involves interaction with individuals and communities of a diverse background.

4. Qualifications:
Required
· Minimum age of 18.
· Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR/AED provided by YMCA or other certified organization
· Demonstrated ability to keep accurate records and organize program area logistics.
· Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.

5. Work Conditions:
· Must have the physical ability to lead the bus stop area including extended periods of standing and loading standard size suitcases from the ground to the loading area of a coach bus.
· Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
· Must have visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the bus stop.
· Must have the ability to physically manage and support children when needed for safety (child weighing 30 - 200 pounds).
· The ability to perform a variety of tasks outdoor in different climate with daily exposure to the sun and heat.
6. Additional Notes:

The incumbent is responsible for taking direction from the Program Director or their representatives in completing projects or performing duties deemed necessary for the Camp or Association success.
