Sr. Industrial Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Specialty) (Maintenance)



1st SHIFT: Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00 AM-3:30 PM. Full Time. (Hours may occasionally vary, depending on company needs.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, codes, and OSHA regulations.
    • Actively promote and adhere to safety protocols and ensure that safe working conditions are always maintained.
    • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to minimize hazards.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
    • Diagnose complex issues in machinery, equipment, and systems, using various tools and testing equipment.
    • Identify root causes of failures and work to develop and implement effective solutions to minimize repeat failures.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
    • Implement and execute preventive maintenance programs for equipment to reduce downtime and prevent major failures.
    • Use predictive maintenance technologies and data to anticipate potential failures and take proactive measures.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts used.
    • Assist in managing spare parts inventory and ordering required parts for repairs and maintenance.
    • Document work orders, maintenance reports, and compliance records in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Provide reports to the Maintenance Manager on the performance of any maintenance issues encountered.
       
  • Leadership & Mentorship:
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior maintenance mechanics, sharing knowledge and expertise.
    • Assist with planning and coordinating maintenance schedules to minimize disruptions to production.
    • Proactively identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes to enhance reliability and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and optimize system performance.
       
  • Mechanical Maintenance & Repair:
    • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment including pumps, motors, conveyors, and other industrial systems.
    • Perform mechanical diagnostics and inspections to identify faults or malfunctions on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
    • Perform mechanical installations, upgrades, and modifications in compliance with safety standards.
    • Conduct regular checks on mechanical systems and ensure proper functioning, conducting tests on system components.
    • Train team members on mechanical safety standards, troubleshooting techniques, and proper maintenance practices.
    • Suggest improvements to mechanical systems or machinery that will increase operational efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery components.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
      Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair, and installation in an industrial setting.
    • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Demonstrated strong capability or certifications in the mechanical trades of pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and millwright workmanship preferred.
    • Prior leadership experience or mentoring role is a plus.
       
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Solid understanding of mechanical safety standards and OSHA regulations.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems and machinery.
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team and interact with other departments.
    • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and work order tracking.
       
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds and work in physically demanding environments – both inside and outside.
    • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights as required.
    • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and crouch for extended periods.

Experience

Required
  • 10 year(s): Previous experience in industrial environment as mechanic/technician.

Education

Required
  • High School or better
Preferred
  • Associates or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field
