The Team

Join our team as a Development Director and contribute to the design and creation of world-class software.

You will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of solutions that operate in all facets of A&M Tax: from internal tools that improve efficiencies to client-facing enterprise systems.

This position will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle: documentation, development, testing, debugging, and support. You will have opportunities to mentor developers by providing guidance and knowledge sharing to help them grow and improve their skills.

How you will contribute

  • Lead and manage a team of professionals including software developers, QA engineers, and business analysts to drive the design and development of software.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and clients to identify and define business problems and requirements.
  • Architect elegant and scalable solutions that leverage the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Take a hands-on approach to developing efficient and maintainable code bases.
  • Test your work to ensure high standards of quality.
  • Mentor junior and senior developers.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, management of information systems, or information technology and accounting
    A master's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • A practical approach to building software.
  • 10+ years of experience working with
    • Microsoft .NET, C#, and object-oriented principles
    • Relational databases like MSSQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
    • Web API development, testing, and deployment
    • Azure hosting and utilizing common services
  • 5+ years
    • Front end technologies like React and JavaScript/TypeScript
    • Leading software development teams
    • Designing and architecting Systems
    • Deploying and implementing solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an entrepreneurial approach to work.
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Tax knowledge and related experience is a plus.

Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The salary range is $130,000 - $175,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
