Director of Clinical Practice (Project Management)



Oversee the process for placement of Student Teachers and admission to the Intern Pathway Program
Develop coursework and teach courses pertaining to Interns and Student Teachers
Teach TED (Teacher Education Development) courses, Intern Development courses, and clinical practice courses
Provide training for the University Supervisors, Peer Support Providers, and Mentor Teachers
Develop and oversee critical CalTPA support: including but not limited to training and support, success rate presentation, and alignment of coursework to TPA criteria.


Qualifications:

Master's degree in education-related field required. Terminal degree preferred.
California teaching experience required. K-12 Administration or program management in an educational setting preferred.
California Teaching Credential required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
Proficient in Canvas, One-Drive and can integrate new programs as required.
Ability to communicate with students, other faculty and school & district administrators.

Essential Functions:

Work with credential analyst to organize and present application process to credential candidates, including Liberal Studies undergraduates and potential program candidates.
Advise interns and student teachers for appropriate registration.
Coordinate assignments for University Supervisors and Peer Support Providers. Monitor and troubleshoot progress of supervision throughout each semester.
Provide input for TED schedule and invite presenters if needed. Facilitate class meetings including distant students. Develop syllabi, set up TED courses in Canvas with video links and assignments, and post grades.
Conduct Orientation for Interns, Student Teachers, University Supervisors, Mentor Teachers, and Peer Support Providers.
As needed, contact school districts for MOUs.
Facilitate training for university supervisors, mentor teachers, and peer support providers.
Work with Credential Analyst to ensure requirements for placement are met.
Conduct exit interviews with completers and review program and Peer Support Provider evaluations to recommend program improvement to Dean and Faculty.
Keep up to date on California requirements for Interns and Student Teachers, including attendance at appropriate workshops and webinars provided by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Work with Faculty on approval of candidates to advance to clinical practice.
Work with staff and Dean to organize the Credential Ceremony in May.
Attend Advisory Board Meetings as scheduled.
Input grades and attendance, as needed, provide Credential Analyst with copies of "pass".
Monitor the CTC for updates on TPAs.
Coordinate with the CalTPA Coordinator to provide CTC-approved preparation materials to all interns & student teachers, provide instruction, support and completion timelines.
Interview applicants to the Teacher Credential program and advise on educational plans
