Vice President-Natural Gas Operations (Finance)



JOB DESCRIPTION

An executive leader with deep knowledge of natural gas, crude oil, and CO2 facility and pipeline operations. Responsible for providing operational expertise to Project Management to aid in successful design, construction, commissioning, and start-up of capital growth projects with the highest performance and efficiency. This individual will also be charged with ensuring collaboration between the Operations and Maintenance organization and the Project Management organization to support execution of capital growth projects with the highest performance and efficiency by facilitation of communications between the teams.EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years direct work experience in oil and gas pipeline management may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
EXPERIENCE/SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
  • A minimum of ten (10) years' experience with increasing responsibilities in the energy sector.
  • A minimum of five (5) years with direct people management.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large departmental budgets.
  • Demonstrated superior leadership outcomes in the areas of leading self, leading others, and leading an organization.
  • Proven ability to drive positive change with continuous improvement.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. A minimum of ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible experience with a proven record of accomplishment in the oil & gas industry.
  • Previous experience managing cross-functional teams and operating at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated superior leadership outcomes in the areas of leading self, leading others, and leading an organization.
  • Proven ability to drive positive change with continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record of successful, innovative leadership and delivery of performance results.
  • Ability to lead and manage resources that do not have a direct reporting relationship and experience leading staff and contractors in office and remote locations.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Required to carry a cell phone, and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

  • Assist in the review of projects designs throughout the Project Management Process.
  • Collaborate with Operations organization and Project Management team to ensure projects align with Operations specific needs and considerations.
  • Assist with prioritization of Operations support at key points of project design and construction to ensure efficient use of resources while including the right specializations at key intervals.
  • Work with executive leadership to maintain Tallgrass culture through growth and communication planning.
  • Provide Staffing recommendations for proposed projects in line with Zero Based Budget.
  • Collaborate with Operations teams to provide budget input for growth projects to support appropriate project underwriting.
  • Engages with Project Management and Operations to ensure effective Commissioning planning to being projects online safely and efficiently.
  • Works closely with Operations & Maintenance, Engineering and Capital Projects organization to maximize the profitability of assets and systems.
  • Collaborates regularly across the organization to support and progress operational excellence.
  • Participates as a key member of the executive management team in the development and implementation of the company's ongoing growth strategy.
  • Maintains communications at all levels of organization, including executive leadership, on status of initiatives while proactively seeking input from key stakeholders on business projects.
  • Understand and support the company's goals and objectives.
  • Foster a positive open work environment, systems approaches and disciplined execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Manage personnel related matters, including providing performance-based feedback, providing support and completing administrative paperwork as needed.
