Aggregate Foreperson - Ogallala, NE (Manufacturing)

Position Overview

Oversee the erection, maintenance and deconstruction of portable plant operations for Central Sand and Gravel.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Operate crusher and heavy equipment in a safety manner.
  • Manage the crusher set up and teardown when mobile.
  • Oversees and maintains appropriate inventory levels.
  • Ensures that equipment and facilities are properly maintained including ordering parts and maintenance.
  • Works with the Quality Control Department to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Overnight travel and weekend work is required.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or Genereal Education Degree (GED) Required.
  • Experience in aggregate plant operation and maintenance preferred.
  • Experience in construction/building materials industry preferred.

Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre- employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee and Safety Policy Manuals/Handbooks.
  • Regular, on-time and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.

  • Position will occasionally require the frequent climbing of ladders and steps.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception. Regional, overnight travel is required.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. A variety of noise levels, adverse weather conditions, and complex job sites are to be expected daily. Proper clothing, PPE (personal protective equipment), and safety precautions should be taken to ensure your safety, and the safety of others in all conditions. While performing non-field duties of this position, the environment is typical of an office setting and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
