Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Quality to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive national quality control program across approximately 15 facilities in the United States. This role will be responsible for setting and maintaining quality standards, implementing consistent policies, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement across our Decking, Aluminum, and Vinyl product lines.

The Director will also oversee product testing and certification processes, manage inbound raw material quality from overseas vendors, and champion the integration of technology and artificial intelligence to enhance quality.

Job Location

  • This position is hybrid, and this person must live in Tampa, FL (metro) or Knoxville, TN (metro).

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a national quality control framework tailored to facility-specific operations and product lines.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards and benchmarks for Decking, Aluminum, and Vinyl products.
  • Develop and enforce consistent quality policies and procedures across all facilities.
  • Oversee product testing protocols and ensure all products meet required certifications and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails for compliance with domestic and international quality regulations.
  • Manage quality assurance for inbound raw materials, particularly from overseas vendors.
  • Develop vendor quality scorecards and conduct regular supplier audits to ensure material consistency and reliability.
  • Lead the adoption of digital tools, automation, and artificial intelligence to improve quality monitoring, defect detection, and reporting.
  • Evaluate and implement smart inspection systems, predictive analytics, and machine learning models to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting systems to track quality performance across facilities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, highlighting areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce defects and improve product consistency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality control or assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site quality programs, preferably in manufacturing or building materials.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, standards (e.g., ISO), and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with product testing, certification processes, and supplier quality management.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven quality tools, digital inspection systems, and data analytics platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% annually.
