Engineer Technician II (Finance)



As an Eng Tech II here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for supporting engineering teams in the design, development, and testing of various products and systems. You will assist in the creation of technical documentation, perform tests and experiments, and help troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of engineering projects.

The position will be part of the Sustaining Engineering team supporting our current product portfolio and providing Engineering Support for manufacturing and sourcing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a variety of performance and life testing assignments for new valve and controls development or enhancements to existing products.
  • Discuss product performance criteria, customer requirements and tests required.
  • Select appropriate test equipment or use items as specified.
  • Perform the complete assembly of valve or controls prototypes.
  • Plumb units and install safety controls and valves in appropriate thermal chamber, if necessary.
  • Make appropriate mechanical and electrical connections between instruments, test facilities, stands, and prototypes.
  • Troubleshoot test setups for electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Responsible for complete setup and testing according to lab test request written by the engineer and report data and observations accurately and dependably.
  • Collect and log test data ensuring that data is accurate, consistent and logical.
  • Disassemble test units, troubleshoot, and determine specific cause of problems to the component level.
  • Assist in the resolution of production related issues on products. Provide recommendations to improve product performance for assembly and machining operations, as well as cost cutting ideas. Such recommendations are based on operational skill and intuitive judgment.
  • Under direction, interact with vendors.
  • Work with Quality Control to resolve problems with parts or assembly issues.
  • Train production personnel on the fabrication and assembly of new product enhancements.
  • Inspect customer returns and complete an inspection report.
  • Follow HSE safety rules and regulations and maintain 5S in assigned areas.

Use a variety of test instruments such as:

  • thermal chamber,
  • pressure sensors,
  • amp meters,
  • multimeters,
  • amp probes,
  • oscilloscopes,
  • force gages,
  • various hand tools

Responsible to handle small equipment such as printed circuit boards as well as large equipment including 8" valves which require hoists/cranes to move and manipulate equipment.

Responsible to know weight of parts and use appropriate lifting equipment when necessary.

Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Essential Basic Qualifications:
  • Strong English skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated Mechanical Aptitude, Comfortable working with and applying mechanical, electrical and electronic components.
  • Ability to operate a limited variety of machine tools to modify castings and piece parts, performing operations such as drilling, bending, grinding, and soldering
