PC Support/Helpdesk Technician III (Maintenance)



Essential functions

  • Configures and installs hardware or software that supports critical business needs.
  • Involved in the installation and rollout of new software packages, upgrades, and new desktop hardware.
  • Sets up and connects to peripheral equipment, including printers and scanners, and troubleshoots and resolves malfunctions.
  • Receives and addresses service requests from individual end users or from the help desk.
  • Takes ownership of escalations or more complex issues, offering appropriate resolution applying troubleshooting techniques and best practices.
  • Maintains inventory of parts or components, tracks progress of service requests and updates ticketing systems, and logs repairs and services performed.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to team.

Supervisory responsibilities

May function as team lead, as needed

Physical demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and crawl, have finger/wrist/arm mobility and finger dexterity.

Travel required

Anticipated travel approximately 20% per year

Required education and experience

  • Requires an Associate's degree and 6 or more years of experience; or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Able to perform work with a high degree of latitude.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter, handling more complex issues.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, oral and written.
  • Valid drivers license.
