Job Summary

Responsible for providing logistical guidance for North American and International Ocean and air export and import. This position is involved but not limited to the following job functions; prepares and maintains documentation requirements, SLI, Invoice, Bill of lading and AES filings. Coordinates with and provides the critical communication link between internal and external personnel, freight forwarders, freight carriers on all matters pertaining to domestic road operations and export/import shipments. Analyzes and evaluates transportation proposals/cost and negotiates rates for all modes of transportation for cost effectiveness. If rates are not in place, they contact approved carriers, secure rates and updated SAP condition records. Files all cargo claims for parcel, road, bulk, rail or air shipments for the lubricant business unit. Coordinates all vendor compliance screenings for new carriers and third party freight forwarders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 2 years' transportation experience or 4 years' transportation experience in lieu of associate's degree.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of all Microsoft applications.
  • Proficient in SAP usage.
  • Time management.

Job Duties

  • Preparation of required original documents and verifies pricing and maintains documents for all export shipments.
  • Directs freight forwarders on all matters pertaining to export/import shipments and notifies freight forwarders to secure scheduled vessel booking information in a timely manner.
  • Provides internal and external personnel and freight forwarders/customs brokers/forwarding agents with required information, forwarder/carrier charges, booking details and documentation necessary to eliminate shipment delays and demurrage charges.
  • Analyze and evaluate transportation proposals/cost and alternative modes of transportation for cost effectiveness. Update freight condition records as needed.
  • Track and expedite all shipments as necessary
  • Notification to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with information regarding CITGO products exported which contain TSCA Section 4 chemical substances

Job Duties II

  • New carrier and third party forwarder compliance screenings.
  • Cargo claim filing and tracking.
  • Monitors SAP Z4 sales order hold orders. Researches as to why, resolves and releases to order management. Review is required 4 times a day.
