The Warranty Analyst is responsible for warranty administration, processing, and claim settlement to minimize warranty expense in a manner that reflects the company's vision of working as “One Professional Team.” This involves working with Caterpillar parts, service, and warranty representatives as well as many other allied vendors.

Pay Range: $53,422 - $73,459 annually.
Pay rate is dependent on education and experience.
Essential Functions:

  • Review warranty workorders and process warranty claims to manufacturers
  • Create and track request for additional data sent to the service shops prior to filing the warranty claim
  • Process requests for Caterpillar Goodwill and Demo support
  • Work with manufacturer warranty representatives to configure and process warranty claims
  • Provide support for the parts department related to parts warranty claims
  • Reviews and answers parts return request
  • Create warranty reports as required
  • Coordinates the gathering of many warranty related documents from the manufacturer, the service department, and occasionally the customer
  • Access various online resources as part of the claiming process
  • Use machine and repair information to create manufacturer warranty claim
  • Corresponds with manufacturers, service department personnel, customers, and other dealers regarding warranty matters as required
  • Provides communication and follows up on warranty workorders waiting to be claimed
  • Review and evaluate abnormal oil samples on warranty machines
  • Review repair story and other repair elements to make sure they support the warranty claim
  • Review failed parts returned for parts warranty
  • Review rejected warranty claims for possible correction and re-submission
  • Provide training to parts and service personnel about warranty coverages, required documents/information, and claiming processes
  • Ability to travel up to 25% or as required
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • College Degree Preferred
  • 2+ years' technician experience working on Caterpillar equipment, 3+ years' experience processing warranty claims for heavy or industrial equipment, or 5+ years' experience as Caterpillar heavy equipment service writer, clerk, or coordinator
  • 1-3 years administrative/clerical experience
  • 3-5 years customer service experience
  • 3-5 years technical or mechanical aptitude (heavy or industrial equipment)

Physical Demands & Competencies:

  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
  • Safety & Product Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Intermediate knowledge of DBS, Wynne, and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW

Work Environment:
