Loan Originator Assistant - Database Business Development (Part Time) (Finance)

Job Description Summary:

Employee will be responsible for proactively engaging potential borrowers through a high volume of outbound cold and warm calls. This role is crucial for identifying and nurturing leads within our extensive database, connecting qualified prospects with the loan originator to discuss their home financing needs. The ideal candidate will be an initiative-taking, articulate, and persistent individual with a desire to contribute to a successful sales team while helping individuals achieve their homeownership dreams in alignment with Wintrust Mortgage's core values of putting people at the center of all we do to promote homeownership.

What You'll Do:

Database Management & Outreach:

  • Systematically work through an existing database of prospective clients, employing both cold and warm calling strategies to initiate contact.

  • Prioritize and organize leads effectively to maximize outreach efficiency and conversion potential.

  • Accurately log all call activities, interactions, and lead statuses within the CRM system.

Lead Qualification & Nurturing:

  • Conduct initial needs assessments with potential borrowers to understand their financial situation, goals, and potential eligibility for various mortgage products.

  • High level but effectively communicate the value proposition of our mortgage services and differentiate our offerings from competitors.

  • Overcome initial objections and resistance for an LO handoff/outreach through communication surrounding the consumers needs in a “come from curiosity” approach.

  • Cultivate warm leads by following up on previous interactions, providing additional information, and building rapport.

Appointment Setting & Handoff:

  • Set qualified appointments for LO with interested and pre-screened prospective borrowers.

  • Provide LO with comprehensive summaries of each lead, including key discussion points and client expectations.

  • Ensure a smooth and seamless transition of leads from the dialing stage to the application and origination process.

Performance & Compliance:

  • Consistently meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly call volume, contact, and appointment setting targets.

  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, industry regulations and fair lending practices. This role strictly will not include discussing specific credit requirements, loan terms and rates. 

  • Maintain professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Actively participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and industry awareness.

  • Provide feedback on lead quality and database effectiveness to improve targeting strategies.

  • Stay informed about current mortgage market trends and general Wintrust loan programs.

  • Performance reviews based on below metrics every 90 days for the first year and in step with company standards after one year.

Performance Metrics:

  • Logged on and actively working 4hrs per business day.

  • 40 calls a day/10 per hour on average.

  • Calls resulting in a voice messaging include a follow up text. 

  • No less than 8 LO calendared follow up appointments a month.

  • All progress logged in Total Expert or similar CRM.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have excellent multi-tasking, interpersonal, organizational, communication (both written and oral), and telephone etiquette skills.

  • Must be a self-starter, motivated, energetic, with excellent time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and take direction.

  • Updated and Current knowledge of Fannie/Freddie guidelines.

  • Must possess a working knowledge of computers to include MS Word, Excel, and Internet.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years (current) mortgage banking experience or related experience in sales/marketing.

  • Encompass experience preferred.

Compensation:

The minimum estimated hourly rate for this role is $15.00, along with eligibility to earn monthly commissions. Actual pay rate may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
