Senior Engineering Technician (Finance)
This role will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Section and working independently to prepare and maintain detailed records such as daily logs, schedules, and payment documentation for contractors and vendors. The Senior Engineering Technician will participate in planning conversations to determine maintenance responsibilities across various agencies and jurisdictions, including coordination with County Transportation, cities, and multiple Flood Control District divisions. The technician will also oversee material delivery and disposal coordination, ensure internal checklists are completed, and serve as a liaison with contractors, public officials, and internal departments.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency with common business software applications, such as spreadsheets and word processing programs, is required. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience maintaining technical records and may also possess knowledge of the General Construction Stormwater Permit and experience with State Department of Pesticide Regulations in coordination with the County Agricultural Commissioner's Office. Additional desirable qualifications include experience with surveying and construction staking, stormwater training certifications, and pesticide application training or certifications.

The Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District provides for the control and conservation of flood and storm waters and for the protection of watercourses, watersheds, public highways, life and property from damage within its boundaries.
OPTION IIEducation: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in surveying engineering or civil engineering.
Experience: One year of sub-professional engineering experience equivalent to a County of Riverside Engineering Technician II.
OPTION IIICertification: Valid Certificate of Registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Land Surveyor-in-Training issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Experience: Two years of sub-professional engineering experience.
ALL OPTIONS:License: Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
