Vice President of Sales and Marketing (Finance)

Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Sales and Marketing will be responsible for achieving annual sales goals and objectives for Masterack. This executive will have responsibility for a team consisting of sales/customer service team members. This includes business development, dealer channel, key national accounts, regional sales, technical sales, WD & Retail sales, and customer service.

As the lead sales executive in the business, this individual will set sales objectives and orchestrated the necessary resources to achieve them, including maintaining and increasing profit margins, managing to budget, monitoring daily invoiced sales and payment terms, build cross functional relationships in order to exceed customer expectations and develop talent bench strength capable of competing in the marketplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee the company sales & Marketing functions to identify and develop new customers for existing products and services.
  • Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology. Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase sales volume across multiple product categories to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations.
  • Possess superior knowledge and understanding of all assigned products, competitor products, market, and industry.
  • A thorough understanding of marketing advertising and promotion program management, product positioning, lifecycle management and pricing.
  • Ability to define market dynamics and competitive capabilities to develop plans that improve competitive position of product lines. Recommends product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Research, develop, analyze, and monitor demographic factors, customer input, and other pertinent market drivers to identify market opportunities, value propositions and capture strategies for new and existing products (via market research activities, analysis, and on-going communication with key customers).
  • Develop and manage sales & operating budgets, territory forecasts, sales activity reports and pipeline activity documentation in the CRM.
  • Ability to manage all Masterack brands and interface effectively with customers of all sizes. Some less sophisticated than others.
  • Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts and coordinate the management for all other accounts.
  • Participate in the development of new project proposals. Develop and deliver insightful presentations and strategies to the business unit and/or corporate office where appropriate.
  • Implement customer specific pricing collaborating with engineering, operations, and finance to secure business and attain profit and sales goals.
  • Sales to Engineering liaison. Insuring customer's expectations are clear to engineering and manufacturing from quote process through build.
  • Work with department managers and corporate staff to establish and implement short-and-long range goals, objective, policies, operating procedures, and business plans for growth.
  • Supervise the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs.
  • Warranty investigation, damage control and contribution to resolution.
  • Champion departmental continuous improvement activities around daily processes and procedures.
  • Present weekly/monthly reports on performance as requested by the President.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • B.S. degree in business or equivalent education and experience - advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years in sales/marketing roles with increasing responsibility.
  • 5+ years in a senior-level sales leadership role for a $200MM+ business multisite manufacturing business.
  • Automotive aftermarket industry experience (and selling into independent retail dealers)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Dynamic, polished, high energy, focused, and driven.
  • Low ego; confident, yet humble personal style that resonates with blue-collar work force
  • Ability to lead large and small, complex and distributed organizations; willing to make tough/unpopular decisions, but well respected by internal and external business leaders.
  • Ability to empower others and continue to display a culture of ownership and accountability. Encourages innovation and creativity.
  • Strong organization skills, including the ability to develop linkages/relationships with the company's other business units.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to deal confidently with multiple constituents with differing levels of sophistication both inside and outside the organization.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; must be able to clearly communicate the goals of upcoming projects and other firm-wide initiatives.
  • Must have valid driver's license and passport.
  • Up to 50% travel with ability to overnight for up to one week at a facility location throughout the US.
