Cybersecurity Analyst (Finance)



POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Cybersecurity Analyst works closely with the other members of the security organization, the business, and other IT staff to develop and manage security for one or more IT functional areas (e.g. data, systems, network, and/or applications).  The candidate will be able to effectively identify risk, analyze cybersecurity event data, and work to provide effective asset protection, incident detection, and response measures across enterprise systems and applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintenance and management of information security related applications.
  • Triage and address cybersecurity alerts reported by information security systems.
  • Proactively identify risks and active threats to the organization, IT systems, and applications.
  • Tune cybersecurity incident detection systems to provide effective security for the organization.
  • Perform incident response tasks including evidence preservation and other incident response action to contain threats within the environment.
  • Endpoint and application hardening for risk reduction.
  • Perform vulnerability scans and testing, publish remediation instruction, and track resolution.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations to management to continuously improve the cybersecurity posture of the Company.
  • Lead job assignments without direct supervision.
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business goals and information security needs.

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in M.I.S., Computer Science, Information Security or related degrees, or related years of experience
  • Cybersecurity certifications, such as Security+, Network+, CCNA or similar, desired but not required
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience
  • Experience with Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems, Enterprise Application Layer Firewalls, Enterprise Endpoint Protection, Enterprise Authentication Technologies, Security Event Information Management, Vulnerability Assessment, and cybersecurity incident response and forensics
  • Understanding and familiarity with NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • Familiarity with Operational Technology (OT) / Industrial Control Systems (ICS) preferred 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with great attention to detail
  • Broad knowledge of information security technologies, principals, and frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal communication skills are required to interface with all affected teams, personnel, senior management, and vendors
  • An organized and detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently given direction and resources
  • Well-grounded, preferring to work in a collegial and team environment
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgment and common sense
  • Advanced computing skill sets – proficient with multiple computing operating systems and programming languages
  • Ability to be on rotating 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Regular and reliable attendance
