Data Governance Analyst (Finance)



We are looking for a Data Governance Analyst to drive data quality initiatives and champion data governance across our organization. This role focuses on partnering with our product, engineering and support teams to establish data standards, implement validation processes, and ensure data accuracy throughout our workflows. You'll collaborate across teams to develop and maintain data quality metrics, investigate discrepancies, and build automated monitoring solutions. This position offers the opportunity to shape how our organization views and values data quality while fostering a culture of data-driven decision making!

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborating with partner teams to onboard new customer data, inclusive of metadata tagging and classification
  • Establishing and maintaining metadata management systems to enhance data discoverability and usage
  • Creating and deploying automated validation processes to maintain consistency with data management policies
  • Reporting on and coordinating action to assure retention and access management policies are met
  • Optimizing scalable reporting workflows to transform complex data into actionable business insights
  • Ability to effectively drive cross-organizational team collaboration

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, information systems, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles
  • Ability to configure data pipelines and leverage LLM prompt engineering to execute meaningful queries
  • Hands-on experience with cloud storage platforms such as AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, or GCP Cloud Storage
  • Hands-on experience with cloud database and data warehouse platforms such as AWS RDS / Redshift, Azure SQL DB / Synapse Analytics, or GCP Cloud SQL / BigQuery
  • Supporting environments subject to regulatory compliance requirements related to data handling
  • Business intelligence tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Knowledge of data governance and lifecycle management principles

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Background in working with large, complex datasets, as well as creating and maintaining user documentation
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems
  • Python scripting for workflow automation
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as R or Python
  • Knowledge of APIs and microservices architecture

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 124,000 USD - 195,500 USD for Level 3, and 140,000 USD - 224,250 USD for Level 4.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits .
