RENTAL AGENT (Administrative)



Title:  Toyota Rental Agent

Compensation:  $18.50-$20.00

Schedule:  Rotating Monday-Thursday 7am-6pm & Wednesday-Saturday 7am-6pm

The Rental Agent is responsible for operating the department effectively within the financial objectives and operational procedures established by management.  Also, the Rental Manager must manage within budgetary constraints in order to have a profitable department.  Risk management, loss prevention, and expense control are core job functions of this position.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations and functions of the Rental department.
  • Achieve established goals to include fleet utilization, revenue per unit, and profit per rental daily.
  • Ensure maximum profitability through effective utilization of the fleet and control of RT expenses.
  • Ensure a daily physical fleet check is carried out and anomalies rectified.
  • Oversee the proper security procedures for keys, equipment and assets.
  • Respond to customer's inquiries and/or issues.
  • Monitor rental agreements to ensure correct rates and expenses are being charged, required information is collected and verified.
  • Maintain productive working relationship and open line of communication all internal departments.
  • Meet with upper management on a regular basis to discuss current and proposed fleet to collaborate on TCUV/Used Vehicle needs.
  • Plan, direct and monitor the preparation of returned vehicles for the next rental to ensure compliance with established quality assurance standards. Ensures all quality assurance standards are met.  
  • Ensure department records/reports are printed on a daily basis and filed accordingly.
  • Ensure department procedural manuals and training information files are current.
  • Ensure that daily and weekly rental receipts are audited and cross referenced with rental agreements.
  • Ensure Monthly Reports are completed on timely accurate manner.
  • Participates in company marketing efforts and special company projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Strong cash register, clerical, and basic computer skills are a must
  • Positive attitude
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Must be detail-oriented with a keen ability to read and understand written and verbal directions
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for working with people is essential
