Lead Project Engineer (Finance)
Honeywell is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Turbomachinery Specialist to join our dynamic team in Torrance, California. The ideal candidate will possess a background in bearing technology, especially gas bearing, with expertise in design, analysis, testing, and application in various industrial contexts. You will play a critical role in enhancing product performance and reliability, contributing to innovative engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize gas bearing systems for various applications, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
- Conduct performance analysis and testing of gas bearings under various operational conditions.
- Utilize simulation software to model gas bearing behavior and predict performance outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to turbomachinery and gas bearing performance, providing innovative solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in gas bearing technology and industry standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations on gas bearing performance and project results.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product and process quality.
- Take the ownership of Turbomachinery NPI projects
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in gas bearing design and analysis, preferably in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, or oil and gas.
- Proficiency with industry-standard modeling and analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to innovate and improve designs.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to a diverse audience.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO) related to bearing design and operation is preferred.
- Project management experience is a plus.

The annual base salary range for this position is $153,000-$191,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
