Product Manager (Finance)



Position Summary: The Product Manager is responsible for driving the profitability and strategic direction of the product line, from initial concept through full lifecycle execution. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, operations, sales, and marketing teams to manage quotations, development, manufacturing readiness, and go-to-market strategies. The Product Manager will influence design reviews, develop forecasts, respond to RFQs, and ensure product documentation and collateral meet internal and customer requirements. A strong business acumen, customer-facing experience, and a deep understanding of global manufacturing environments are essential. The ideal candidate thrives in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and can influence at all levels of the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Own the full product lifecycle: From strategic planning to tactical execution Drive gross margin and product profitability, ensuring sustainable business growth Analyze market trends and customer needs to recommend new product developments and enhancements Generate and manage product projections aligned with business goals and objectives Direct responsibility for product line P&L (Profit and Loss) including pricing, costing, and margin management Evaluate and manage risks associated with quotations, product development, and production timelines Participate in budget planning, monitor KPIs, and ensure alignment with Amphenol's overall financial goals Conduct monthly business reviews with global product teams to assess performance and steer direction Create, lead, and execute the sales and marketing strategy for the product line in line with Amphenol's global vision Collaborate with the MARCOM Specialist to ensure marketing collateral and product data are accurately represented on Amphenol and partner websites Respond to RFQs (Request for Quote) and prepare proposals that align with Amphenol's competitive positioning Support key account and distributor relationships to drive sales growth and ensure a customer-focused approach Influence design reviews and product development initiatives alongside engineering and operations teams Coordinate cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, production, and logistics to launch new programs Collaborate with global manufacturing teams, especially teams in China, for effective product delivery and development Travel to key customers and distributors as needed to build relationships, support technical discussions, and gather market intelligence. Maintain strong understanding of market competition and industry conditions that could impact product performance Advocate for customer needs and channel feedback into the development cycle Apply strategic business planning to guide long-term portfolio development and differentiation Provide leadership and mentorship to internal teams, motivating them toward shared goals Demonstrate ability to manage crises, set realistic expectations, and drive accountability Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, Business or related field 5+ years of industry experience or 3+ years in Product Management or related role Knowledge of Industrial Markets - familiarity with sectors such as renewable energy, heavy equipment or power distribution Demonstrated experience in the following business skills: strategic planning, emphasizing excellence, managing processes, organizational development, market knowledge, financial planning, leadership and client relationships. Ability to clearly communicate and influence, verbally and written. Ability to interact effectively with and motivate professional, sales, managerial and direct labor personnel Experience with Manufacturing Environments Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
