Trade Shows and Events Marketing Mgr (Finance)



Job Summary:

We're looking for a results-driven Trade Shows and Events Marketing Manager who will serve as a go-to team member for end-to-end trade show and event planning, management and execution. Serving as a hands-on manager who collaborates very effectively with cross-functional teams, you'll be accountable for every stage of trade show and event planning, from aligning objectives and messaging as part of marketing planning, outlining detailed marketing tactics, facilitating detailed logistics and managing budgets to post-event performance analysis. You will equally be capable of developing and executing impactful integrated marketing plans with a multi-channel approach, in which trade shows and events are frequently critical channels for successful engagements.

Your ability to deliver impactful marketing initiatives and customer engagements in support of focused business and marketing strategies, manage multiple efforts simultaneously, leverage protocol standards, problem-solve with finesse and successfully partner with cross-functional areas if key to delivering performance-based marketing results enabling growth. By executing strategic vision with operational excellence, the Trade Shows and Events Marketing Manager plays a key role in marketing planning and execution, facilitating impactful customer and employee engagements through energy-filled, compelling and innovative target audience experiences.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Responsible for the development, integration and execution of comprehensive multi-touchpoint marketing plans from start to finish to support strategic company priorities
  • Plans, organizes, integrates, manages and executes companywide participation in external and internal event activities including trade shows, conferences, symposiums, summits, association membership meetings, board meetings, customer events, employee events, product launches, milestone achievement events and more
  • Maximizes strategic marketing planning to amplify trade shows and events as a robust marketing channel to reach, educate, and engage customers—building demand and preference for our people, products and services
  • Build trusted and accountable relationships by effectively collaborating across the organization among the growth team, operating divisions, business development functions, affiliate entities, Strategic Marketing, Brand Strategy, Enterprise Communications, Human Resources and others
  • Manages all aspects of shows/events including but not limited to pre-during-post planning, logistics, execution, space selection/booking, exhibit design criteria and functional layout, exhibit property materials (owned or rented), product demonstration assets attendee management and support, shipping, set-up/tear-down, on location supervision, event-connected sponsorships and their affiliated deliverables
  • Plans and executes ancillary events including on-site/off-site micro-events, customer engagements and specialty meetings to deliver heightened, more personalized interactions
  • Leads and drives completion of a variety of marketing planning, alignment, review and approval meetings with key stakeholders and participants
  • Analyzes schedules, identifies obstacles, re-prioritizes and refines execution processes to uphold deadlines and critical milestones
  • Facilitates after action reviews and formulates observations/opportunities for refining and recalibrating future tactics
  • Collaborates closely with Strategic Marketing, Brand Strategy and Enterprise Communications on content and branded assets needed before, during and after shows/events
  • Ensures content effectively communicates value propositions to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Develops and executes integrated marketing plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams to reach current and prospective customers through viable touchpoints and channels including shows, events, email, advertising, web, social, sales, ancillary events and more
  • Manages the development and on-time scheduled execution of all supporting tactics along with supporting vendor relationships for all assigned projects while continually optimizing show and event activities to reach/exceed business goals
  • Owns budget management/accountability for assigned shows/events (ranging from $5K to $1M depending on specific show/event), maintains an event by event budgets, provides regular monthly/quarterly budget updates, achieving prescribed percent-to-budget goals
  • Actively seeks opportunities to reduce costs without impacting quality or required outcomes
  • Leads measurement reporting and analysis, delivering actionable insights to stakeholders while recommending actionable improvements for future events
  • Serves as an Elbit America Protocol Officer, providing guidance and assistance to others, managing protocol, ensuring compliance, developing protocol policy while modeling appropriate protocol behaviors
  • Liaises with Protocol Officers and Embassy staff, DoD, Military, and Legislative Offices as necessary to manage CODELs, STAFFDELs, FMS engagements and other events where local, national and foreign dignitaries are present
  • Stays current on industry trends and best practices—incorporating them into marketing strategies to help us stay ahead of the competition
  • Completes additional responsibilities and projects in support of the business as needed/assigned

Education, Experience & Licenses / Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Specific Degree Field Preferred: Marketing, Business, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism or Equivalent
  • 5 + years of applicable marketing experience planning/executing multi-faceted shows/events

Credentials/Licenses/Certifications Preferred:

  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP)
  • Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM)
  • Event Management
  • Protocol

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing strategies leveraging multiple channels and tactics (including but not limited to shows/events) to achieve business objectives with measurable results
  • Outstanding project management skills with an ability to run several complex multi-faceted initiatives concurrently in a high-velocity/high-quality environment
  • Ability to determine, set and reflow priorities all while meeting commitments and deadlines
  • Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills with an ability to effectively communicate, sell your ideas and influence across all levels inside and outside of the organization
  • Appreciates and respects the perspectives of multiple stakeholder input and interactions, effectively adapts engagement style and communications approach accordingly
  • Capable of leveraging customer research, hard data, and metrics to assess the impact of existing and prospective shows/events to create go-forward customer engagement recommendations
  • Experience negotiating with and managing a variety of external suppliers, agencies and show/event venues to facilitate a wide range of professional services, including space, attendee management, security, catering, support staffing (sourcing and management), standard/VIP transportation and more
  • Strong work ethic and drive for meeting challenges and exceeding expectations
  • Owns keeping stakeholders and teammates well informed and updated managed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required with additional software experience preferred encompassing Cvent (or equivalent), Adobe Creative Suite, Project Management, Marketing Automation and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems

Travel / Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent travel is required as needed, typically near 50%
  • Ability to lift up to 45lbs
