Test Cell Operator (Finance)

The Test Cell Operator operates and tests various turbine engine models including General Electric CT58 and Honeywell T55/AL5512 series engines, verifies engine performance and functional data to meet manufacturer's instructions for continued airworthiness (ICA).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoots engine failure modes and replaces components to return engines to service
  • Performs and ensures that tools and equipment are well maintained, operable and accounted for
  • Ensures shop areas are kept clean, orderly and FOD free
  • Manages test cell calibration program to ensure test cell equipment is within the required testing specification
  • Implements and provides effective OJT, mentors employees in the shop, both technically and professionally, and other means to promote technician skill growth
  • Identifies and communicates training needs to shop leadership
  • Read and interprets maintenance manuals, or other technical data to determine the feasibility and provide instruction on the best method to perform the assigned task
  • Provides regular oversight ensuring all findings and work performed/corrective action is accurately documented in the appropriate maintenance record
  • Communicates with internal, and external customers as required to resolve technical problems
  • Monitors and supports specific shop continuous improvement activities by utilizing Lean and continuous improvement tools striving to identify and eliminate waste in all its forms in an effort to improve quality and safety, decrease lead time and reduce cost

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred
  • Certificated per FAR Part 65. Must have the potential to obtain maintenance release and inspection authorizations
  • Minimum 4 years' experience maintaining turbine engines in an overhaul shop environment
  • Knowledge of turbine engine to airframe interface, and test cell /on-wing troubleshooting experience desired
  • Minimum 6 months experience operating T55 series engines in an approved test facility required
  • Test Cell Certification preferred
  • Familiar with the products and processes associated with turbine engine and turbine engine component maintenance
  • Thorough understanding of repair station procedures, quality management system procedures (maintenance and manufacturing) and associated federal aviation regulations
