Director Learning and Development (E5818) (Education)



Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of Learning & Development to lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of enterprise-wide training initiatives. This role will oversee a team of L&D professionals and manage programs that support leadership development, compliance training, onboarding, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design, and performance management, along with a passion for fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the annual L&D strategic plan aligned with organizational goals.

Program Design & Delivery: Lead the creation and global delivery of training programs, including leadership development, onboarding, and microlearning formats.

Evaluation & Metrics: Establish testing and evaluation standards, assess ROI, and report training effectiveness to senior leadership.

Compliance & Systems Management: Ensure global compliance training requirements are met and oversee the Learning Management System (LMS).

Talent Development: Partner with HR and senior leaders to design customized development programs and engagement initiatives.

Team & Budget Management: Manage a team of L&D professionals, oversee budget planning, and ensure cost-effective program delivery.

Vendor Management: Select and negotiate with external vendors for training content, systems, and service

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience) required.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of professional or managerial experience in Learning & Development.
  • Proven experience managing staff and leading enterprise-wide training initiatives.

Certifications

  • Required: 360 Assessment, DiSC, Manager Coaching (within 60 days of hire)
  • Required: Certified Instructional Designer and Developer (within 60 days of hire)
