Aircraft Cleaning Department Supervisor | KVNY (Maintenance)



We are  looking for a strong, experienced Aircraft Cleaning Department Supervisor for our full- Aircraft Cleaning service at Van Nuys airport (KVNY). You will be supervising all the following shifts:

  • Weekday Shift (Monday – Friday)
  • Swing Shift (Monday – Friday)
  • Weekend Shift (Friday – Monday)

Position Summary

The Aircraft Cleaning Department Supervisor is responsible for the efficient execution of the work scope and the cleaning, detailing, preventive maintenance, and brightwork polishing, performed under the authority of the Clay Lacy FAA Certificated Repair Station. Supervise all employees and all shifts in the Clay Lacy Aircraft Detailing department. Support the department manager with the daily administrative duties. Promote the Clay Lacy Aviation vision, mission, and values to create a positive team environment that raises the level of safety, service and value for our customers and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all shifts and cleaning staff.
  • Train new employees on cleaning techniques.
  • Maintain quality assurance of all aircraft cleaning.
  • Schedule, plan and implement all aircraft cleaning tasks.
  • Communicate with customers, maintenance controllers, flight crews, and appropriate employees for scheduling all aircraft cleaning.
  • Order and maintain all aircraft cleaning supply.
  • Participate with management on staff reviews.
  • Support and implement policies, procedures, and goals from management staff.
  • Conduct interviews of potential candidate for employee
  • Meeting with new clients to drive sales.
  • Support the duties of the Manager during their absence.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Position-Specific Skills  

  • Aircraft Detailing/Cleaning and additional duties:
  • Travel to all remote job locations
  • Full Exterior & Interiors detailed cleaning/wipe down
  • Interior deep cleaning
  • Leather detailing
  • Carpet cleaning & shampoo
  • Bright work polishing
  • Protect, prepare, clean aircraft interior/exterior before and after maintenance event
  • Hangar/Shop organization and cleaning (Under 6S initiatives)
  • Upkeep and storing aircraft cleaning equipment
  • Ordering and storing cleaning consumables (i.e. towels & chemicals)
  • May include other duties as required.
  • Must have a valid C Class Driver's license with a clean driving record.

Required Education and Experience  

  • High School / GED
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience in both inside and outside cleaning of aircraft and supervision of a staff of at least five (5) employees or a combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to two years experience and provides the required knowledge and abilities.
  • General knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in external and internal aircraft cleaning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks; follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; and maintain good working relationships with others.
