Data Engineer I (Finance)



The Data Engineer I plays an important role in the operationalization of priority data and analytics initiatives by building and supporting data pipelines to provide curated data for key data and analytics features within products. This position collaborates and communicates effectively within the team and also with our clients. This position applies and contributes to data integrity, standards, and best practices, as well as identifies opportunities for increased efficiency and automation at the product feature level. This position leverages operational knowledge of data and metadata using tools such as SSRS, Power BI, N8Nautomation, Metabase, and Budibase. This is an information technology position that applies data handling, organization, and analysis skills to design, implement, and support analytics solutions typically for multiple departments using data from USFFoundation Systems.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, OR a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and one year of relevant work experience, OR a combination of 4 years of relevant work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification, validated through certification requirements and documentation of completion, is considered to be related training.

Prefer experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power Query, Data Lakehouse architecture, DAX, SQL scripting and data modeling, dbt, Familiarity with Dataverse and the Microsoft Power Platform, Knowledge of Ellucian CRM Advance or the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Platform, and Experience with fundraising analytics.

Preferred individual has kept abreast of the trends in technology.
Individual must have strong CS fundamentals & problem solving skills.
Individual must be detailed-oriented who enjoys challenges, can work independently and as a team member.

Grow Here .Analyze data requests and provide data extracts using MSSQL and approved third party tools like N8Nautomation, Metabase, Budibase, and Microsoft Reporting tools such as SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)/ Power BI. Assist in developing custom workflows and Business Processes within the Ellucian CRM database (Microsoft Dynamics).

Use and gain knowledge and experience in data processing languages, such as SQL, Python, Budibase, and tool/services such as APIs, XML, and PowerBI. Assists the business in turning data into information, turning information into insight, and insight into decisions. Create graphica nd spatial visualizations to enhance understanding of critical business performance

Consult with users to identify and document requirements using Data Flow Diagrams, Unified Modeling Languages, mind maps, etc., and evaluate specifications and requirements against available systems and functionality

Suggest automating or streamlining the most-common, repeatable, and tedious data preparation and integration tasks in order to minimize manual and error-prone processes and improve productivity.

Maintain User-targeted on-going documentation and provide user support in the usage of the software application. Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy.
