Research Assistant, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science (Education)



Job Description

The student will conduct research in computational materials science. Specifically, the student will contribute to materials modeling of high-performance polymeric and composite materials used for aerospace applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keep up to date with the state-of-the-art in polymer modeling

  • Develop expertise in setting up, running, and analyzing molecular dynamics simulations

  • Conduct research to advance the state-of-the-art in polymer physics

  • Disseminate research by writing journal articles and giving talks at the field's top conferences

  • Assist with guiding undergraduate students and visiting scholars

Required Education: Bachelor's degree
