Planning & Project Manager, Corporate Affairs (Finance)



Job Overview:
The Corporate Affairs Planning and Project Manager works directly with the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO) on function business planning and budget tracking, objectives and metrics tracking, Lean daily management, routines and team meeting agendas, leadership social and digital presence, and manages projects that span across teams. The position also collaborates with the Corporate Affairs leadership team to implement the annual business plan and assists the CCAO in tracking the budget.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partners directly with the CCAO on function priorities. Responsible for oversight and follow-up with tracking goals, strategies, and initiatives. Develops metrics for measuring effectiveness and reports on progress. Provides recommendation for improvements across the team.
  • Manages projects and business initiatives from development through successful execution under the strategic direction of corporate affairs leadership.
  • Leads the implementation of Lean Daily Management across Corporate Affairs key initiatives.
  • Leads cross-functional team to drive social and digital presence and activation.
  • Collaborates with corporate affairs leadership on function business planning, objective setting, and tracking.
  • Assists with setting agendas for leadership meetings.
  • Works with Chief Corporate Affairs Officer to lead Corporate Affairs engagement initiatives.
  • Assists with management of function budget and vendor requirements.
  • Performs other relevant job duties as required.

Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Experience:

  • 3-5 years related experience in project management .
  • 2 years related industry experience preferred.

    Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments/projects concurrently
  • Ability to follow a project methodology
  • Flexible and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies
  • Strong balance between strategic and tactical skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines while working under pressure
  • Ability to work in geographically dispersed teams
  • History of applying effective problem-solving skills
  • Proven strong leadership, human relations, and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Proven professional, effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:

  • Remote Role: This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
  • Travel (minor): This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
