Industrial Network & Security Engineer

As an Industrial Network & Security Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering advanced technical services across network architecture, security, and performance optimization for our customers.

You'll support a wide range of initiatives-from system upgrades and new installations to cybersecurity remediation and proactive maintenance. This is a hands-on role that requires both deep technical expertise and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient network environments.

You will work out of Mason, OH on a hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve complex network issues in mission-critical environments, including material handling systems.
  • Design, implement, upgrade, and support a range of network infrastructure-routers, switches, wireless access points/controllers, and firewalls.
  • Deliver expertise in WAN/LAN topologies, SDN, NextGen Firewalls, and enterprise wireless networks.
  • Utilize advanced tools and methods to analyze routing topologies, troubleshoot Layer 2/3 issues, and optimize network performance.
  • Support connectivity across servers, workstations, and network appliances in both Honeywell and vendor ecosystems.
  • Monitor and improve network health through performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive adjustments.
  • Lead and document change management processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Design scalable, secure network solutions with built-in redundancy, monitoring, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a high-performing technical team.
  • Conduct threat assessments and lead vulnerability mitigation efforts to protect operational technology (OT) environments.
  • Develop and enforce security policies and standards based on frameworks like NIST and ISO.
  • Respond to security incidents and lead resolution efforts to prevent recurrence.
As an Industrial Network & Security Engineer here at Honeywell, you will oversee support activities, provide technical expertise, and resolve complex issues. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Mason, OH location on a hybrid work schedule.Must Have
  • 2+ years of experience supporting computer and/or security networks.
  • High school diploma or higher education.

We Value
  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • Extensive experience with network protocols: STP, ARP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, DMVPN, QoS, VLANs, EtherChannel, multicast, 802.11 standards, CAPWAP, 802.1X, IPsec, and SNMP.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark and LogicMonitor.
  • Hands-on experience configuring Cisco/Juniper/Aruba equipment and wireless systems.
  • Solid background in performance monitoring, disaster recovery planning, and system documentation.
  • Ability to provide technical mentorship and guide troubleshooting efforts across a team.
  • Operational knowledge of network security principles and practices in OT environments.

Certifications Preferred
  • CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert) - strongly preferred
  • Network+ (CompTIA), JNCIA-Junos (Juniper), ACMA (Aruba), VCTA-NV (VMware) or similar
