Recreation Aid (Personal Services)
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning and leading group and individual activities, such as games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, educational programs, and special events.
Encourage resident participation while ensuring activities are adapted to meet individual needs and abilities.
Prepare and organize activity materials, equipment, and spaces prior to programs.
Accompany and assist residents during outings or off-site events, ensuring safety and comfort.
Maintain attendance records and help track resident participation and feedback.
Collaborate with other departments to promote activities and integrate them into residents daily routines.
Assist in decorating the facility for holidays, special events, and seasonal activities.
Follow all facility policies and procedures, including infection control, safety, and confidentiality guidelines.
Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
Qualifications
Previous experience working in a healthcare, senior living, or recreational setting is a plus.
Ability to lead activities and engage participants of varying abilities and backgrounds.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
Must be able to assist residents with mobility during activities and outings.
Visual and auditory acuity to respond quickly to resident needs and activity requirements.
Work Schedule
Flexible schedule
Every Other weekend and rotating holidays.
