Sr Advanced Project Engineer (Finance)



This position is to support the development of Honeywell's Electric Power Generators and Motors. You will be responsible to lead medium complexity projects that can include either new technology or application, but generally within the domain of technical experience. Responsible for technical leadership, cost control, schedule, milestones, customer, and PM interfaces. Leads other disciplines, interfaces with internal leaders and external customers, Chief Engineers, and resident experts to accomplish program objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the engineering effort to develop electric generators and motors, develops work package structure, leads creation of cost, integrated schedules and milestones for components and system developments
  • Provides direction and oversight for project team
  • Leads prioritization of work packages, design goals and objectives, and component/ system integrations
  • Oversees preparation, review and approval for documentation and deliverables
  • Uses enterprise-based business tools to achieve project planning and cost objectives
  • Meets design objectives and requirements for development hardware & software across multiple COE's
  • Develop work package budget to meet the program objectives and drive accountability to meet commitments of team members Know and manage the work package risks
  • Develops and maintains long-term relationships with key customers to identify new business opportunities.
  • Drive scope alignment within the Integrated Product Team. Support management of change

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet engineering support requirements.You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a [Hybrid/On-site] work schedule.Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum at least 3-5 years of aerospace experience

We Value
  • Knowledge of the design and analysis of rotating machinery. Knowledge of rotating electric machines such as wound field synchronous or permanent magnet motors generators and rotor is a plus
  • Experience leading the technical effort for development programs
  • Familiar with military and commercial aircraft specifications.
  • Familiar with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment
  • Competence to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
