Bus Driver - Childcare (No CDL) (Personal Services)
Drive children to and from schools, and various places on "field trips" days.
Create a fun, safe atmosphere during the bus rides.
Comply with ODJFS state licensing guidelines and requirements regarding transportation.
Have knowledge of emergency procedures appropriate for bus transportation/evacuation to ensure the safety of the children and record as required.
Schedule vehicle repair and/or maintenance appointments with branch approved vendor(s).
Responsible for refueling as needed.
Perform weekly vehicle inspections and conduct monthly emergency exiting procedures per ODJFS requirements. Monitor and report vehicle maintenance concerns.
Cleans bus inside and out as needed, before/after/in-between transportation to ensure a high quality clean transportation experience for all riders.
Be responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of the vehicle.
Communicate with staff and children about expectations while bus is in motion, prior to departure.
Communicate with the appropriate program directors about staff or children issues.
Attend all staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, and conferences as requested or required.
Be knowledgeable of the Annual Campaign financial assistance program.
Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Mini-Bus: Valid driver's license
Standard-Bus: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Driving History that qualifies for coverage under YMCA's transportation insurance policy.
Certifications in CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse Prevention are required to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to provide a copy of High school diploma, a completed medical form (JFS 01296) and undergo a BCI/FBI background check prior to first day of work.
Must have reliable transportation

Risk involved with travel on main highway, side streets and rural roads during business travel, including evenings and weekends.
This job involves sitting for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing.
Able to work a flexible schedule.
Must be able to travel, enter, and exit a vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions.
Must be able to assist a child in distress weighing between 50 - 100 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Tasks that involve infrequent exposure to blood, bodily fluids or tissues.
