Retail Visual Coordinator (Finance)

Job Description:

This is an hourly position that pays between $23-$25/hr ($47,840 - $52,000/year) plus quarterly bonus plan, based on experience.

Job Purpose/Overview
The primary focus of this role is to create an Unforgettable Guest Experience in accordance with Mars Retail Group brand standards, creating a world where everyone feels they belong.

The Visual Coordinator is responsible for visual merchandising and presentation excellence, ensuring the best possible shopping experience for guests. This role is a critical part of developing a holistic ecosystem of the M&M'S brand by assisting with bringing our key brand launches and storytelling to life in store.

This role is responsible for upholding and executing the established policies and procedures relating to inventory, replenishment, Quality, and all food safety requirements.

Context & Scope
The role of the Visual Coordinator is crucial for the delivery of an Unforgettable Experience in our Retail stores, and for upholding the visual merchandising and presentation excellence side of the business.

Success is found in this role through independently dealing with ambiguity in a solution focused environment and working collaboratively with the leadership and corporate visual teams, not excluding developing one's own skills.

Key Responsibilities
STORE OPERATIONS

  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures
  • Identify visual and inventory gaps & opportunities, flagging risks to the leadership team, planning team, and other relevant business partners
  • Ensure installations and permanent displays are updated and maintained
  • Lead presentation excellence to ensure all areas of the store are well prepared (neat clean, organized, operational and safe), allowing guests to shop with ease to maximize sales volumes
  • Aid to ensure the reduction of waste across all areas of the store
  • May participate in auditing events to local and/or company standards
  • Drive Quality to achieve compliance in food regulation, local regulation, and auditing

M&M'S BRAND AMBASSADOR + PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE

  • Execute visual direction, including seasonal changes, as communicated by the corporate visual and marketing teams
  • Store expert of the M&M'S brand and store products to maintain the high standards of brand reputation as outlined. This includes greeting and approaching all guests with a friendly and positive attitude
  • Adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations to showcase product representation in key areas throughout the store in the best interest of sales, volume and guests
  • Protect confidential information regarding brand assets and updates
  • May be asked to support the brand with our classic characters in costume
  • Internally, advocating for equity, inclusion, and diversity, role modelling allyship • Externally, may relate the brand purpose, helping to enhance brand loyalty - potentially supporting in hosting and organizing events

GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Champion a "Guest comes first" attitude through the power of fun, in an environment where everyone feels they belong, with a 'One for All and All for Fun' mentality.
  • Use resourcefulness with product knowledge and category components, keeping displays/spaces occupied and shoppable for guests to experience and enjoy
  • Work in tandem with leadership and corporate visual teams to ensure accurate roll out of new product launches and floor changes, ensuring all products easy to shop for our guests
  • Ensures presentation minimum standards are met through daily merchandising maintenance and makes recommendations for M&M'S retail store merchandising and floor moves to maximize sales volume
  • Ensures installations and permanent displays are updated and maintained daily to support driving sales
  • Monitors Retail Operations communications for direction and initiatives calendar
  • Executes visual direction based on seasonal plan/activation calendar for displays and windows as communicated by the corporate Visual Merchandising & Marketing teams through product and VM Directives
  • Provide onstage support for guests and store Associates when needed

BUSINESS RESULTS

  • May review sales and operational results against business objectives
  • Maximise profitability to identify potential opportunities for growth
  • Support outlined visual strategies and plans to achieve operational growth through effective communication, and consistent accountability
  • Responsible for upholding and coaching on all Mars Retail Group policies and procedures, plus local regulation adherence, including attendance and timekeeping, food handling guidelines, Quality, loss prevention, and safety/emergency procedures

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT + COMMUNICATION

  • Responsible for meeting deadlines and executing visual initiatives, as outlined in the internal communications calendar
  • Collaborate with Corporate Visual Merchandising team to maintain execution standards.
  • Utilize data and consumer feedback to recommend changes to the leadership team in a timely manner
  • Aid in strengthening connections and consensus within the store team
  • May collaborate with leadership to ensure all people practices, policies and procedures are fair and consistent
  • Aware of and collaborates with the leadership team over local retail business trends, insights, opportunities and community outreach
  • Integral role in a strong and influential Store Leadership team

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP

  • Support the development of a fun and inclusive environment where Associates feel comfortable being their true and authentic self at work, in a "fun kind" way to bring out the best in each other
  • Partner with store leadership and corporate visual teams on training and maintaining visual merchandising and M&M'S brand standards to stores Associates • Coach and provide feedback to Associates in various positions and relays back to the Manager's regarding Associate performance
  • Exemplify The Five Principles and Associate Concept

Other duties as assigned by the Leadership team.

Job Specifications/Qualifications
Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree/advanced training/education is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-year experience in a retail environment, with an emphasis or specialization in visual merchandising
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of creativity and resourcefulness
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in applying signage, assemblage and installation of visual props and mannequin styling
  • Able to climb ladders, standing and lifting merchandise, boxes & props
  • Demonstrated knowledge of merchandising techniques and principles
  • Demonstrates strong interest in design & fashion trends

Key Experiences Preferred but not required

  • Experience in coaching others
  • Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.The total compensation package for this position mayalso include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offeredand the employee's work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
