Base pay in range will be determined by applicant's skills and experience. Full-time associates in role are also eligible for an annual bonus incentive. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company's 401(k) program.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Culinary, Hospitality Management, Management, or related field from a four-year accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum 10 years management experience in senior housing or hospitality required with a minimum of five years of multi-unit oversight.
  • Education or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
  • Must understand older adult market.
  • Knowledgeable of all aspects of food service and culinary operations.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements
Current ServSafe Certification required. Obtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates. Maintains a working knowledge of community and regional, divisional operations management. Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Solves multifaceted problems that require understanding and evaluation of impacts on the communities and/or major divisions of the Company. Responsible and accountable for the overall strategy and execution of quality resident, family and guest food experiences, service, and nutritional needs that exceed resident and family expectations. Leads the Dining Center of Excellence to support the operational divisions of the company to leverage data with the goal of constantly improving dining experience, quality and business outcomes. Oversees the dining COE divisional leaders while providing leadership and direction through planning, developing and implementing consistent standards, purchasing processes, resources and strong internal and external partnerships in accordance with the current applicable federal, state and local standards and regulations, while maintaining all corporate practices, philosophies and objectives.

  • Assures food experiences and nutritional care rendered to residents, families, and guests is consistent with Brookdale standards of excellence and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Partners to develop best in class training and inspiration for all dining associates in all product lines at Brookdale, including on-boarding and in-service requirements.
  • Oversees the Dining Center of Excellence and ensures talent is aligned with expectations to support operational and clinical execution.
  • Monitors and develops action based on key customer metrics, overall food quality, and customer satisfaction to drive top line growth and business results by product line.
  • Develops policies, procedures and standards for all communities to assure regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of policies and programs that support customer satisfaction, sanitation, and key business metrics.
  • Assists with development of long-term strategic planning including innovation, efficiency and customer trends in dining services ensuring delivery is consistent with the Company's mission, goals and business strategy.
  • Keeps well-informed of federal, state, and local regulatory changes affecting the industry and assisting the Sr. Directors of Dining with planning accordingly.
  • Advises and partners on the contractual parameters for the selection of food and supply vendors as it pertains to the impact of cost control and inventory.
  • Responsible for planning and overseeing the budget and working with operations and Sr. Directors of Dining to maintain costs within budgeted parameters.
  • Supports recruitment, training, and retention for community dining management teams.
  • Assumes responsibility for final selection of key departmental personnel when necessary.
