Federal Work-Study| Undergraduate Admissions (Finance)



Department: Undergraduate Admissions Salary: $12.00 per hour
Description:

The Admissions Department is seeking motivated and detail-oriented students to provide administrative, customer service, and event support. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience in a higher education environment while assisting prospective students, current students, and campus visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets and assists visitors, students, and staff in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answers incoming phone calls, responds to inquiries, and transfers calls to the appropriate staff member
  • Assists with applications and supporting documents
  • Assists with campus tours, admissions events, and information sessions as needed.
  • Performs data entry, scanning, copying, and other clerical duties
  • Provides general office support to Admissions staff and completes special projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Flexible schedule during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a current UH Downtown student with a valid Federal Work-Study award for the academic year.
