Emergency Department Nurse Manager (Healthcare)



Fall River Health Services is looking for an ED Nurse Manager. In this role you will be a Registered Nurse who will report to the Chief Nursing Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for the 24-hour supervision and administrative management of the Emergency Department in accordance with hospital goals and values. The ED Nurse Manager will facilitate the delivery of professional nursing care, and will help lead a competent team of Emergency staff by exhibiting excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:• Administer effective and safe nursing care using standard nurse practices.• Perform emergency medical procedures such as basic cardiac life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), and documents data related to patients' care.• Administer blood and blood products, perform transfusions or intravenous infusions, manage patients' pain relief and sedation, monitoring patients' responses and changing care plans accordingly.• Assess urgent and emergent health conditions and interpret the results of diagnostic tests and screening procedures. Define, develop, and monitor standards of patient care and nursing practices.• Support successful collaboration between nursing, providers, and other disciplines to achieve desired patient care outcome and department strategic plans.• Collaborate effectively with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure provision of care is coordinated and well planned. To include appropriate coverage of nursing shifts as required due to changes in staffing and census. • Develop and implement orientation plans for new staff and lead others with motivation. Position ED Nurse Manager Department FRHS ED• Plan and establish comprehensive competency programs and work cooperatively with staff and managers to determine educational needs of the employees.• Participate in the planning and teaching of educational programs necessary for hospital accreditation or other regulatory requirements.• Participate in Quality Improvement activities to evaluate services.• Pursue continuing education to expand knowledge and expertise; attend meetings as needed.• Establish and updating department policy and procedures.• Encourage and support staff growth and development through the provision of orientation, competencies, and continued education.• Participate in hiring, orientation, training, discipline and management of employee conflict.• Works with Chief Nursing Officer to ensure organizational goals, federal and state requirements, and other professional standards are met.
The average Salary for this position is $83,000 - $100,020 a year, depending on years of experience.
