Senior Claims Analyst (Legal)

Job Description:
The Senior Claims Analyst follows written procedures to review and determine eligibility for a full range of legal administration claims. The Sr CA must follow documented team processes to ensure compliance at all times and be able to meet departmental standards and/or service level requirements. This level may use critical reasoning skills, knowledge and established protocol to make determinations beyond the procedures documented.
Job Responsibilities:
Understand and keep current on all department and company policy and procedures
Use proprietary software tools to access and review claim documents, enter claim decisions, and create escalations when needed
Communicates timely and effectively to management any obstacles or escalations needing attention
Performs data entry and data verification as needed to perform work
Assesses data integration and manual processing guidelines to understand the requirements that drive the quality of claims administration
Consults with partner groups to define functional requirements and refine technical requirements for complex queries
Communicates with peers regarding work needed to achieve quality standards
Analyzes and advises on business requirements
Reviews business rules and data mapping documents
Works with team members to balance workloads and monitor team priorities
Field questions from Analysts and determine best course of action
Maintaining team morale through coaching and development
Job Requirements:
GED or High School Diploma
3+ years in claims analysis work
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Communication: asks questions; confirms understanding with the audience; learns and adopts best practices for written word exchanges with claimants
Problem Solving: seeks resolution despite roadblocks; identifies alternative routes to the goal
Critical Thinking: switches perspectives when considering solutions, to identify gaps and optimize results
Navigates Ambiguity: works through the unknown strategically
Organization: tracks a variety of assignments by priority, and quickly switches between tasks
Troubleshooting: leverages systems and tools knowledge to locate and repair root causes for error
Data Interpretation: accurately assesses claim data to drive the highest level of claimant service
Proprietary Software: understands the underlying structure of databases and other common tools for business administration, and learns new tools rapidly
Vision: continuously conceives of and aspires toward long-term change, while effectively executing short-term goals
