Safety Manager (Engineering)



The Safety Manager plans, directs and implements the organizations equipment services safety programs including program development, performance measurement, training and administration.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans, implements, and maintains safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations for utilities, midstream and renewables industries.Plans and implements programs to train employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, fall protection, confined space, hot work, site evacuation, and correct handling techniques for chemical, toxins, equipment, and other materials.Responds immediately to all critical safety issues, including after-hour issues. Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.Evaluate safety risks associated with SOP's and work instructions.Provides information, signs, posters, barriers and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions. Conducts emergency safety drills.Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.Maintains Safety KPI weekly dashboard including incident rates, recordables, insurance claims, near-miss incidents, and corrective actions.Prepares studies and analysis of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.Maintains all safety files and records.Manages multiple Safety Coordinators located at equipment service locations.

Environment:
The employee will work predominantly in office and equipment service facilities, utilizing standard office and computing equipment. Standard work hours, with availability to respond to incidents 24x7. Travel expected 60%.
