Cook III - The Bankers Alley Hotel Nashville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton (Finance)




The Bankers Alley Hotel Nashville, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is searching for talented full-time Cook lll to join their culinary team! This culinary professional will be supporting restaurant and banquet operations. The Cook lll is the most experienced and skilled among the cook positions, possessing greater knowledge and a more advanced skill set compared to Cook ll and Cook l.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate culinary professional with a minimum of 3-5 years of line cook experience and strong culinary fundamentals. They should bring focus, professionalism, a sense of urgency, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. The candidate must be organized, self-motivated, capable of upholding high standards, and have the desire to learn and grow their career. Experience with hotel operations is preferred but not required.

Shift Pattern:Full availability is required including weekends and holidays

Pay Rate:$24.00 per hour

What will I be doing?

As a Cook III, you lead by example, you have honed your culinary skills and continue to develop yourself and your fellow Team Members in the kitchen.

This position requires a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation, proficiencies in basic knife skills, cooking methods and techniques. Along with the rest of the team, you would be responsible for preparing, cooking, creating dishes from start to finish, reading and understanding guest orders and maintaining and monitoring quality control for all food items in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically, but not limited to, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Assist in the preparation of food items including but not limited to chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing dishes from start to finish.
  • Follow recipes and directions and instructions provided by the Chef, Kitchen Supervisors and trainers.
  • Creating guest orders from start to finish in a friendly, timely, efficient and accurate manner.
  • Ensure menu and product knowledge
  • Offering menu ideas, creating recipes, setting up tastings and using feedback constructively to contribute to the restaurant's menu.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations and kitchen equipment and following safety and sanitation guidelines according to federal, state, local and company regulations.
  • Ensuring other Team Members are following guidelines and helping correct opportunities.
  • Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Properly chilling, heating and holding of product.
  • Help with setting up and breaking down kitchen stations for service.
  • Support other kitchen team members and/or departments during busy periods or special events.
  • Follow safety and sanitation policies at all times.
  • Receive and store kitchen deliveries as needed.
  • Continue to learn and apply culinary skills and knowledge with guidance from the kitchen team.
  • Effective and professional communication within the kitchen, other departments, leaders and guests.
