Facility Environmental Supervisor (Finance)

Altec is looking for a Facility Environmental Supervisor in St. Joseph, MO.This person will ensure the facility complies with all current environmental regulations, as well as work to develop, implement, and monitor environmental programs, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's Degree and four years Altec experience, supervision & environmental/safety preferred.

OR
  • Bachelor's Degree and four years industrial environmental/safety-related supervision.

OR
  • Three years Altec Supervision with five years total applicable experience.

OR
  • Eight years external environmental/industrial safety-related supervision required.

  • This position will have a heavy focus on environmental. Candidates with environmental experience will be given top consideration.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include air travel.
  • Current Valid Driver's License.
  • Must be able to work with teams and work with minimal supervision.
  • Internal candidates will be an associate in good standing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Altec's Environmental Program and report to the EHS Manager.
  • Prepare permits for regulatory agencies and ensure compliance.
  • Advance sustainability through benchmarking.
  • Act as the contract for regulatory agencies (e.g., EPA).
  • Submit required environmental reports.
  • Train staff on environmental compliance.
  • Perform environmental inspections.
  • Participate in problem-solving and accident-prevention programs.
  • Lead and support Rapid Continuous Improvement (RCI) Events.
  • Update emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Manage hazardous materials and waste.
  • Maintain spill response equipment.
  • Manage "right-to-know" programs for hazardous substances.
  • Monitor new laws and ensure compliance.
  • Interface with Corporate Environmental Manager and local municipalities.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
