Sustainability Intern - Long Beach, CA (Finance)



The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech's Long Beach, CA office is currently seeking a Sustainability Intern. The intern will support the LA Green Business Project by assisting with various tasks aimed at promoting sustainable business practices. This role involves on-site visits, conducting audits, filling out certification applications, conducting outreach, and tracking progress using the internal CRM system. This position may have hybrid work arrangements, but the candidate must reside within 30 miles of the local Long Beach, CA office.

Your Role:

  • On-Site Visits: Assist in conducting site visits to evaluate businesses' sustainability practices.
  • Audits: Perform audits to assess compliance with green business standards.
  • Certification Applications: Help in completing and submitting applications for green business certifications.
  • Outreach: Engage with local businesses and stakeholders to promote the project and its benefits.
  • CRM Tracking: Monitor and update progress in the internal CRM system to ensure accurate tracking of project milestones.

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma.
  • Strong interest in sustainability and environmental practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software is a plus.
  • Ability to be on feet for 2-3 hours.
  • Ability to travel and complete field work (approx. 25-50% of travel required).
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Target hire rate: $20.00 / hour. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
