Maintenance Technician- Utilities (Finance)



Job Description:

The Utilities Technician reports to the Reliability Manager and is responsible for the following:

  • Responsible for the daily documentation of utility area
  • Responsible for communicating and elevating any quality and food safety concerns tosite management.
  • Responsible for the planned, preventative and predictive maintenance on the equipmentin their area.
  • Seek out Optimization opportunities for increased production tonnage
  • Train the shift mechanics on equipment repair and troubleshooting
  • Assist with Engineering projects
  • Manage small maintenance projects
  • Other similar duties as assigned
  • Respond/evaluate all unplanned work orders, regardless of area/system
  • Communicate outstanding issues to all (Operations, Maintenance, Staff, etc.)
  • Communicate re-occurring issues to Maintenance System Technicians
  • Complete non-urgent and routine PMs or "projects" during shift "slow time"
  • Other similar duties as assigned
  • Executing and Planning PM's
  • Implementing Planned Work Orders (WO's)
  • Review parts lists and stock levels
  • Update and maintain equipment manuals
  • Work on improvements within the area
  • Basic personal computer skills.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as forklift and personnel lifts, etc.
  • Ability to engineer small projects in fields of maintenance.
  • Knowledge of GMPs and clean design methods.

What are we looking for?

Seeking a self-motivated associate with mechanical and some electrical aptitude. Prior experience managing boiler systems and air compressors is a must. Must be available on occasion for escalation calls related to utility systems.

What will be your key responsibilities?

The technical responsibility of this job includes but is not limited to safety, efficiency, reliability, PM's, spare parts, infrastructure improvements, operation, and troubleshooting for the utilities systems. The utilities technician manages the reliability of air compressors, boilers, fire systems, minor plumbing, general building maintenance, and handles contractor management. Specialized technical focus on each system is provided by this position.
