Senior Marketing Manager (Finance)



Experienced marketing professional with a strong background—or clear aptitude—in scientific or technical fields. This individual must be passionate about effective, high-impact marketing and driven by data, with a deep appreciation for analytics that reveal what's working, why, and how to improve. They work closely with company leadership to create and deliver campaigns that serve two critical channels.
Professional Qualifications
Education
  • BS. OR M.S. in Marketing, Business, Biology, Engineering, or related fields; or equivalent experience.

Experience
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in marketing or related field
  • Strong track record using data analytics to drive marketing impact
  • Proven team leadership with mentoring and development experience
  • Experience in scientific or technical marketing preferred
  • Proficient in CRM and marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo, Pardot)

  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills
  • High performer with strong problem-solving, creativity, energy, integrity, and patience
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Position Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and optimize targeted marketing campaigns across channels (email, digital, content, social, events) tailored to specific customer segments, product types, and sales objectives. Develop and manage campaign calendars and go-to-market plans that align with product launches, seasonal cycles, and business milestones.
  • Create and deliver campaigns that support both: High-touch, technical sales cycles and Low-touch, ecommerce-driven sales.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Technical Support, and Business Operations to ensure messaging, campaigns, and customer engagement strategies are aligned with field insights and product realities. Proactively engage internal stakeholders to gather input, secure alignment, and create buy-in around marketing initiatives.
  • Deliver clear and consistent reporting to executives and cross-functional teams, translating marketing performance into actionable business insights.
  • Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to marketing team members.
  • Promote accountability through clear communication, goal setting, and performance tracking. Create structure through processes while encouraging strategic thinking and autonomy
  • Support LI-COR customer data management processes and strategy, and work with Senior Director of Business Operations to ensure marketing results data is captured and can be utilized across CRM and automation tools
  • Ensure compliance with privacy policies and email regulations; participate in regular audits
  • Coordinate marketing activities with Sales and Management to grow international and subsidiary sales
  • Ensure accessibility of distribution partners to resources and training materials
  • Oversee marketing budget, including campaign and tradeshow planning.
  • Some domestic and international travel required for events, customer visits, and global marketing initiatives (2-3 times/year typical)
