We are currently seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Activities Director to lead and coordinate resident-centered activities in our skilled nursing facility. Position Overview:
The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing a comprehensive activity program that meets the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of all residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, as well as company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a dynamic monthly calendar of individual and group activities
  • Encourage and promote resident participation in both in-facility and community-based programs
  • Coordinate transportation for appointments and outings
  • Oversee the implementation of activity care plans and documentation of services provided
  • Maintain proper records and charting for all resident activity services
  • Participate in discharge planning and interdisciplinary meetings
  • Assist in survey preparation and follow-up, including plans of correction
  • Collaborate with other departments, residents, families, and external agencies
  • Supervise and manage the activity staff to ensure quality programming and compliance

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Activity Director Certification required
  • At least 1 year of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement policy and procedure manuals
  • Ability to apply practical problem-solving and mathematical concepts in daily operations

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent walking, standing, and physical activity throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to perform the functions of the job

Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented skilled nursing facility
  • Low to moderate noise levels
  • Frequent resident interaction
