Director, Business College Career Services Center (Finance)

Description:

Directs Career Services for the Bauer College of Business Rockwell Career Center, which develops career opportunities for the college's students and alumni.

1. Leads the Office of Graduate Business Career Services, including a team of Sr. Career Development Specialists, contract/temp staff and graduate assistants and overseeing expenditures related to student programming for the Office of Graduate Business Career Services
2. Develops and oversees the implementation of the career services strategy for all graduate and alumni programs at Bauer, including participating in establishing admissions priorities at Bauer and making graduate admissions decisions.
3. Oversees the collection and reporting of outcomes data for major media outlets involved in rankings, requires expertise in CSEA Standards.
4. Establishes and oversees departmental policies related to internship, co-op and independent study credit approval
5. Leads the development and implementation of curriculum for MBA career lab in partnership with faculty
6. Works closely with the Deans Advisory Board and other executive groups to facilitate networking, internships and programming for students.
7. Actively solicits and engages prospective employers to network with and hire Bauer students.
8. Represents the college at regional, national and international meetings of industry representatives to promote Bauer and serve as an expert on MBA career services.
9. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Description:
The C. T. Bauer College of Business is seeking an innovative and seasoned Senior Director of Graduate and Alumni Career Services to lead the strategic development and delivery of career services for graduate students and alumni. This leader will be responsible for creating and executing innovative career advancement programs, fostering industry partnerships, and enhancing career outcomes.

Position includes the following responsibilities but not limited to:

Leadership
• Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement a strategic vision that supports the career aspirations of Bauer's graduate students and alumni.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of career services professionals.
• Drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, and results-oriented service excellence.
• Align career services strategies with the college's long-term goals and industry trends.

Career Coaching and Development
• Lead a team of experienced career coaches, providing guidance on self-assessment, job search strategies, and professional development.
• Oversee the design and delivery of tailored career programming for diverse graduate programs
• Introduce innovative coaching strategies and resources, including online tools, to support both current students and alumni.
• Partner with faculty to align career resources with academic curriculum, ensuring students are prepared for evolving job markets.

Employer and Alumni Engagement
• Establish, cultivate, and expand partnerships with corporate, nonprofit, and government employers to create high-impact jobs, internships, and experiential learning opportunities.
• Collaborate with Alumni Relations and other university departments to build a robust network of engaged alumni, facilitating mentorship and employment connections.
• Stay informed on evolving industry trends to anticipate and meet employer needs, enhancing students' marketability.

Program Innovation and Execution
• Develop and implement cutting-edge career advancement programs that reflect best practices from top business schools.
• Leverage technology, online platforms, and marketing strategies to expand reach and engagement.
• Organize impactful career-related events, such as industry panels, employer spotlights, and networking sessions.
• Regularly evaluate and refine programs based on participant feedback and outcome data.

Data-Driven Insights and Reporting
• Utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of career services, tracking key performance indicators such as placement rates, student satisfaction, and alumni success stories.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of student and alumni employment outcomes in compliance with rankings standards.

Collaboration and Representation
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including faculty and admissions, to integrate career programming into the student experience.
• Represent Bauer College at local and national events, promoting the college's reputation and strengthening employer relationships.
• Serve as an ambassador for Bauer's graduate talent, driving recognition and rankings.
• Be an active and engaged member of the Career Services Employer Alliance, further developing Bauer's brand and utilizing the organization for benchmarking purposes.

Skills and Expertise:
• Proven leadership and people management abilities.
• Strong employer relationship-building skills.
• Expertise in career coaching strategies, adult learning, and job search strategies.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Preferences: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years of experience working in career services at an accredited business school, a business-related industry role or as a recruiter hiring graduate business students.

Qualifications: Experience will be considered in lieu of education.

MQ: Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
