Dir Risk Management & Compliance (Finance)

This position can be remote but candidate must live and work in the US in Eastern or Central Time Zone only.

The Director of Risk Management & Compliance Oversight reports to ACI's Chief Compliance Officer and is responsible for providing risk and compliance advisory services. This position will collaborate cross functionally to develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure the security, compliance, and sustainability of payment operations to secure and protect the longevity of ACI.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Advise the Chief Compliance Officer on risks throughout the company; enforces and ensures compliance throughout the functional areas of the business.
  • Provide leadership and strategic guidance to Departments/Business Units with regards to risk and compliance; Supervises the 1st line in identifying Remediation Plans and ensuring timely implementation.
  • Promote a strong and effective risk management culture, capabilities, and innovation through leadership, technology, and people.
  • Facilitate alignment and gap closure between the Company's acceptable amount of risk and the Company's current risk exposure; provides oversight to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor risks.
  • Prepare and present risk reports at governance forums, and to senior management and regulatory authorities, highlighting key risk areas, mitigation strategies, compliance status, and executive narrative / opinion with regards to areas for improvement. Discuss, evaluate, and provide guidance on steps to control and monitor aforementioned risks.
  • Continuously assess risk to identify potential vulnerabilities and emerging threats within payment systems; Provide oversight to ensure that risks are fully managed through to effective mitigation.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and compliance standards such as PCI DSS, GDPR, AML, KYC, and others applicable to the payments industry.
  • Provide oversight for operational processes and procedures to identify areas of potential risk and provide recommendations for mitigating strategies and controls.
  • Cultivate a risk-aware culture throughout ACI, with proper accountability and responsibility. Provide training programs to increase awareness of risk management practices and ensure compliance across the organization, including ramifications for non-compliance.
  • Peer leader, enterprise risk subject matter expert, and trusted risk partner; is intellectually curious; learns the business. Provides insight as well as information.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of risk management or compliance experience within the payments industry or financial services sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of payment systems, financial regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of related federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and industry standards, e.g. PCI, GLBA, HIPAA, GDPR, DORA, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience in managing risk management teams and driving organizational change initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, JD)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are desirable.
